privacy policy

mokd™ collects only what it needs to run custom orders, never sells personal information, and never sees card numbers. This policy explains what mokd LLC collects, why, and what you can do about it.
1. who this covers
- Makers: people who sign up for a mokd account.
- Customers: a maker's customers who use a request, proof or order page.
- Waitlist and website visitors: people who visit getmokd.com or join the list.
For customers: the maker you're ordering from decides what to ask for and how to use your order details. mokd stores that information on the maker's behalf. For questions about your order, start with the maker. You can always reach us too.
2. what we collect
From makers: your name, email and password (stored scrambled, never readable), your shop name, logo, brand color, pickup city and sales tax rate. Also the work you do in mokd: products, prices, designs, mockups, orders and production dates, plus your plan and billing status. We use this to run your account and show your brand to your customers.
From customers: name, email, phone, business or school name, request details, reference pictures, shipping address, proof approvals (the name typed and when), and payment status. The maker uses this to quote, proof, make and deliver the order.
From the waitlist: your email and anything else you add on the form, so we can tell you when mokd opens.
From everyone: basic technical details like IP address, browser, pages opened and errors, to keep mokd working and secure.
Cards: card details go straight to Stripe. mokd never sees or stores card numbers.
3. how we use it
- to run mokd: save orders, show proofs, send order and login emails, take payments
- to support you when you contact us
- to keep mokd secure and stop spam and abuse
- to understand what's working and fix what isn't
- to tell makers about mokd updates (you can unsubscribe from anything that isn't about your account)
- to follow the law
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use your designs or customer lists for anything except running mokd for you.
4. who else sees it
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run mokd. They only get what they need to do their job for us, and they can't use it for anything else. They help us with:
- hosting the app and the website
- storing the database and design files
- processing payments
- sending login, order and waitlist emails
- running our email inbox
Beyond that, information is shared only:
- between a maker and their customer, as part of the order (the customer sees the maker's shop details; the maker sees the customer's order details)
- with anyone holding a customer link, which shows that one order or request
- when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud
- if mokd is sold or merged, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information
No shop can see another shop's orders, customers or designs.
5. cookies
mokd uses cookies only to keep you logged in and the app working. No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
6. how long we keep it
- Maker and order data: while the account is open. After a shop closes, we delete it within 90 days.
- Billing and payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require (usually up to 7 years).
- Waitlist: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
7. keeping it safe
mokd is encrypted in transit (https), every shop's data is locked to that shop's own logins, and card details are handled only by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
8. your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we have about you
- correct it
- delete it
- give you a copy
Email hello@getmokd.com. We'll confirm it's you and answer within 45 days. Customers: we may pass your request to the maker you ordered from, since the order is theirs. We won't treat you differently for asking.
California residents have these rights under California law, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. mokd does not sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.
Makers can also edit or delete most of their information directly in the app.
9. children
mokd is for businesses and is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
10. where it's stored
mokd is run from the United States, and information is stored there.
11. changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll email makers and update the date at the top before the change takes effect.
