terms of service
Effective October 18, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and mokd LLC, a California limited liability company ("mokd", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using mokd™, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use mokd.
1. what mokd is
mokd is software for running custom apparel orders: requests, quotes, proofs, approvals, payments, production steps and delivery. In these terms:
- A maker is a business that signs up for a mokd account to run its orders.
- A customer is a maker's customer who uses a link the maker shares (a request page, a proof page or an order page). Customers do not need a mokd account.
mokd is a tool. The maker is the seller. Every order is between the maker and their customer, and mokd is not a party to it.
2. your account
- You must be at least 18 and using mokd for a business, even a small one or a side hustle.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- One person or business per account unless we agree otherwise.
- Tell us right away at hello@getmokd.com if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
3. beta
While mokd is in beta, it is free, features may change or break, and we may reset or remove beta data with notice. Beta makers are not charged until they choose a paid plan.
4. plans and billing
- mokd is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly. The price is shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- All payments are final and non-refundable, including unused time and partial months or years, unless the law requires otherwise. You can cancel any time in Settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Founding price: if you joined at a founding price, you keep that price for as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel and come back later, current pricing applies.
- We may change prices for new or renewing subscriptions with at least 30 days' notice by email. Founding prices are not affected.
- If a payment fails, your account is paused right away until you update your card. Your data stays put while it's paused, and your customers' order pages keep working.
- Prices don't include any taxes that may apply.
5. getting paid by your customers
- Card payments from your customers go through your own Stripe account, connected through Stripe Connect. Money goes straight from your customer to you. mokd never holds your money.
- mokd never takes a cut of your sales. Stripe charges its own processing fees, which are between you and Stripe.
- Your Stripe account is covered by Stripe's own terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You must follow them.
- You are responsible for refunds, chargebacks, disputes and any fees or losses on your Stripe account.
- Payments you record by hand (cash, Zelle, Venmo, check) are records only. mokd does not process them.
6. your orders and your customers
You are responsible for everything about your own business, including:
- your prices, deposits, rush fees, shipping fees and delivery promises
- your own policies for your customers (refunds, changes, cancellations)
- the quality of what you make and getting it to your customer
- sales tax. mokd's sales tax setting applies one rate you choose. It does not know your local rules. Choosing the right rate, deciding who is tax-exempt, and filing and paying tax are up to you
- following the laws that apply to your business, including laws about contacting customers
Dates in mokd (production steps, estimated ready dates) are planning tools you set. They are not promises from mokd.
7. customer links
Request pages, proof pages and order pages work without a login. Anyone who has the exact link can open it. The links are long and random so they can't be guessed. Only share them with the people they are meant for. If a link gets out, contact us and we can help you shut it off.
8. your content
Your content means everything you or your customers put into mokd: designs, logos, mockups, reference pictures, product details, order details and messages.
- You own your content. mokd does not claim any ownership of your designs.
- You give mokd permission to store, copy, resize and display your content only to run mokd for you: for example, to show your designs on a proof to your customer. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups, which are deleted on their normal schedule.
- mokd stores a smaller preview copy of each design, not your print-ready file. Keep your own originals and backups.
- Your designs can be seen and used only by your shop, plus anyone you share a link with. No other shop on mokd can see or use them. A customer who can view a proof can still take a screenshot, so mokd can't promise that nobody will ever copy a design.
- You promise you have the right to use everything you upload, including school, team and business logos. Get permission where you need it.
- Customers who send a request or a reference picture through your page give you and mokd the same permission, and make the same promise.
9. copyright complaints
If you believe something on mokd infringes your copyright, email hello@getmokd.com with: your contact details, the work you own, where the material is on mokd, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized and that your notice is accurate, signed by you. We'll review it and may remove the material. We close the accounts of makers who repeatedly infringe.
10. things you can't do
Don't use mokd to:
- break the law or help someone else break it
- upload content you don't have the rights to, or content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent
- send spam or messages people didn't ask for
- try to see or change another shop's data
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell mokd
- overload mokd, upload malware, or get around limits or security
mokd has fair-use limits to keep things running for everyone, including up to 1,000 designs per shop. We'll tell you before a limit affects you.
11. mokd's stuff
The mokd name, logo, app and software belong to mokd LLC. mokd™ is a trademark of mokd LLC. Your subscription lets you use mokd. It doesn't give you any ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
12. other services
mokd relies on other companies, including Stripe for payments. Their services have their own terms, and mokd isn't responsible for them.
13. changes to mokd
We keep improving mokd and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something important you are paying for, we'll tell you first.
14. ending your account
- You can cancel any time in Settings.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people at risk, or doesn't pay. Unless it's urgent or illegal activity, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- After your account closes, you can ask for a copy of your orders and customer list for 30 days. We delete your shop's data within 90 days after closing, except what we must keep by law (like billing records).
15. no guarantees
We work hard to keep mokd running and your data safe, but mokd is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or right for your needs.
16. limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows:
- mokd is not responsible for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages.
- mokd's total responsibility for any claim about mokd is limited to the greater of what you paid mokd in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
17. if someone makes a claim against us
If someone makes a claim against mokd because of your content, your orders, your dealings with your customers, or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover mokd's reasonable costs from that claim.
18. disputes
These terms are governed by California law. If we have a disagreement, please email us first and we'll try to work it out. If we can't, either of us can take it to small claims court, or to the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California.
19. changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using mokd after that means you accept the new terms.
20. the rest
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something right away doesn't mean we give up the right to later. You can't transfer your account without our okay. These terms, plus the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and mokd.
